Under the wave of global economic integration, cross-border e-commerce has become an important growth pole of international trade.
As a major manufacturing city, Foshan has two trillion-level industrial clusters in home furnishing and equipment manufacturing, as well as 10 hundreds of billion-level industrial clusters, and its products sell well all over the world.

Foshan has so many good products, and cross-border e-commerce should become the “window” and “bridge” connecting consumers.
Cross-border e-commerce is the core engine of Foshan’s industrial upgrading, helping traditional manufacturing industries break through foreign trade barriers.
Through “digital overseas”, advantageous industrial belts such as pan-home furnishings and home appliances are directly connected to the global consumer market, promoting product added value and brand internationalization; accelerating the transformation of foreign trade models from OEM to independent brands, restructuring the value distribution of the industrial chain; at the same time, driving the agglomeration of new business formats such as cross-border logistics and digital marketing, and injecting new momentum into Foshan’s “manufacturing city” strategy.
However, in the face of the booming development of new foreign trade formats, Foshan still has some shortcomings.
As far as cross-border e-commerce is concerned, there are problems such as high capital turnover pressure on enterprises, limited financing channels, insufficient integration of industrial belts and cross-border e-commerce, and a shortage of comprehensive talents.
To this end, someone submitted the “Recommendations on Promoting the High-Quality Development of Cross-border E-commerce in Foshan City”, which was rated as an outstanding proposal since the Fourth Session of the 13th CPPCC.
On the one hand, it is recommended that Foshan break the financial bottleneck and expand financing channels.
Give play to the coordinating and guiding role of the government, promote the municipal state-owned assets department and the financial department to research and introduce financial products that meet the actual development needs of cross-border e-commerce companies, solve the working capital financing problems of cross-border e-commerce companies, and help cross-border e-commerce companies broaden cross-border e-commerce financing channels, thereby promoting the rapid development of the industry and increasing (retaining) Foshan’s cross-border e-commerce foreign trade data.
On the other hand, we must seize the key point of industrial collaboration.
Establish an “industry belt + platform” docking mechanism, for example, organize cross-border product selection meetings on a regular basis, promote the docking of advantageous industry belt enterprises such as pan-home furnishings and home appliances with the resources of leading e-commerce platforms, and build a cross-border product selection and distribution base; support the “joint brand incubation” model, encourage “cross-border e-commerce + factory” enterprises to jointly build brands, and help traditional enterprises move towards cross-border e-commerce.
Led by associations or investment companies, joint ventures are established to incubate a foreign trade model that jointly owns cross-border online brands. This model has achieved remarkable results in Zhongshan City, driving the transformation of traditional foreign trade factories to develop cross-border e-commerce C-end business and ranking on the platform’s best-selling category list.

At the same time, the “Cross-border Talent Plan” is implemented, and local universities are jointly established to establish “Cross-border e-commerce micro majors” to train in-demand talents such as data analysis and compliance operations; employees who have obtained cross-border e-commerce professional certification are provided with a monthly job subsidy of 800 yuan to attract talents to stay and develop in Buddha.
It is noteworthy that Foshan has clearly proposed to vigorously develop new foreign trade formats this year, promote the “cross-border e-commerce + industrial belt” model, and improve the “1 + 1 + N” comprehensive service system for enterprises going overseas.
It is believed that with the joint efforts of all parties, Foshan’s cross-border e-commerce will usher in better development prospects and inject new vitality into Foshan’s economic development.
