Recently, China’s Ministry of Commerce and other eight departments jointly issued a special policy document to promote the implementation of “artificial intelligence + consumption”, which clearly lists innovative products such as elderly care robots and home intelligent service robots as key promotion categories, and encourages the implementation of related technologies in civilian consumption scenarios. This policy also points out a clear development direction for the intelligent transformation of China’s home furnishing industry, the world’s largest, and creates conditions for global consumers to obtain more cost-effective smart living products.
Following policy guidance, many leading domestic home furnishing industry chain companies have taken quick action and launched major strategic cooperation projects in the field of service robots one after another.
On June 24, the leading domestic home furnishing distribution company officially joined forces with intelligent technology companies to introduce humanoid robots to offline home stores across the country, creating an offline immersive experience space where the robots are deeply linked with the whole-house smart home system, and taking the lead in piloting full-scenario real-life applications of home service robots.
When consumers walk into the store, they can intuitively experience the robot’s full-process services such as housework assistance, elderly care, and smart home device control. This dispels concerns about the practicality of intelligent service robots. It also collects real user feedback for product iterations and serves as a reference for localized adaptation of subsequent products to the global market.
In addition to the layout of offline consumption scenarios, the upstream manufacturing side is also accelerating to open up the path to the implementation of the entire industry chain of service robots.
Recently, domestic home furnishing manufacturing companies and chip technology companies have reached in-depth cooperation. With “AGI general artificial intelligence chip + AGI large model solution” as the core technology support, combined with the medical care vertical model technology accumulated by home furnishing companies for many years, robot body R&D and production capabilities, large-scale mass production advantages and mature sales channels covering the world, it has opened up the entire industry chain from AGI chips, general large models, vertical scene large models, robot body production to downstream application scenarios, focusing on elderly care scenarios to prioritize technology commercialization.
The two core projects have completed preliminary layout from the two dimensions of downstream consumption scene cultivation and upstream technology mass production, officially kicking off the large-scale commercialization of service robots in China’s home furnishing industry.
Compared with similar products in other regions around the world, China-made home service robots rely on complete supply chain advantages to not only perform better in whole-house intelligent linkage adaptability, but also adapt to equipment protocols of mainstream smart home brands around the world. The cost is also 30% to 40% lower than similar imported products. Currently, it has received procurement inquiries from home furnishing channels and elderly care institutions in Southeast Asia, the European Union, the Middle East and other regions, and overseas market demand continues to rise.
Riding on the policy dividend of “artificial intelligence + consumption”, China’s home furnishing industry is rapidly seizing the global blue ocean market for embodied smart home terminals. As the scale of mass production continues to expand, there is room for further exploration of the cost of service robots. It is expected to accelerate the commercial mass production of smart service robots, truly enter ordinary households around the world, complete a new round of intelligent upgrading of the human settlement industry, and bring a more convenient and thoughtful smart life experience to global consumers.
