On August 29, 2025, Shandong Huasheng Rubber Group, while continuously expanding its industrial scale, highly values the integrity of its industrial chain and the synergistic effect of its global layout. Through technology export, it actively contributes to the upgrading of the tire industry along the Belt and Road Initiative. [Image of Huasheng Tire production workshop exchange scene] In the Huasheng Tire PCR molding production workshop, scenes of technical managers and production managers from Pakistan’s GTR Tire Company conducting specialized technical exchanges on modern tire molding processes are playing out almost daily this summer. From the development of new rubber formulations to the exploration of intelligent tire technology, a series of advanced technological achievements have impressed Pakistani engineers with the “Made in China” spirit. Karim, Production Manager of GTR Tire Company in Pakistan, stated, “In recent years, China’s rubber tire industry has continuously improved its technological research, accelerating its intelligent and green transformation. Chinese tires are of high quality and lead the world in scale, especially Huasheng Tire, which has a significant advantage in high cost-performance.” As one of Pakistan’s largest manufacturers of passenger car, SUV, and four-wheel drive tires, GTR Limited’s product specifications cover 70% of Pakistan’s market demand, with an annual production capacity of 2.4 million PCR tires and 1.6 million motorcycle tires. However, despite holding a dominant market share, it still lags far behind Chinese tire companies in both technology and quality. In response to the “Belt and Road” initiative, in December 2024, Shandong Huasheng Rubber Group and GTR Tire & Rubber Company signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly establish a tire manufacturing joint venture in Pakistan, with an initial planned production capacity of 1.5 million all-steel radial tires and 3 million semi-steel radial tires. Huasheng Rubber will provide support in technology and equipment. In July of this year, five engineers from GTR Tire Company traveled a long distance to China to specifically learn advanced tire production technologies. Ibad, PCR Quality Control Technology Manager at GTR Tire Company in Pakistan, explained: “We came here mainly to learn about the design and development of low rolling resistance (LRR) tires, low rolling resistance formulations, and tire structure design. At the Huasheng Research Institute, we exchanged advanced raw material and finished product testing equipment and methods, including full-process testing methods from raw material entry inspection, process inspection, and finished product inspection, as well as control methods, correction methods, and the entire process of intelligent manufacturing for ECO & LRR tires, and the systematic exchange of advanced manufacturing equipment.” Karim also mentioned: “Through learning China’s mature semi-steel radial tire production technology…” For example, the low-cost, high-efficiency mixing process will break through Pakistan’s current production capacity. The introduction of Huasheng ECO & LRR tire R&D and manufacturing technology will help GTR better meet the OE requirements of automotive companies and open up the European and American markets. Learning from Huasheng’s experience in applying intelligent manufacturing systems will improve GTR’s yield rate and reduce production costs. This technical exchange will not only help the long-established GTR tire company improve product quality but also further optimize GTR’s production processes, enhance product competitiveness, and provide better tire support for the “Belt and Road” projects, while jointly promoting the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road” initiative. As a high-tech enterprise focusing on rubber products and strengthening the tire industry, Huasheng Rubber was founded in 1983 and has become one of the backbone forces of independent brands and independent innovation in China’s tire industry, and one of the top 50 global tire companies. In February 2025, the company successfully passed the audit of the United Nations Global Compact Office and officially joined the United Nations Global Compact, firmly committed to continuously promoting green development, integrating green and environmentally friendly concepts into the entire product life cycle, striving to drive the green and low-carbon development of the industrial chain, and enhancing the international influence of its brand. Currently, the group’s products are sold to more than 160 countries and regions worldwide. It has led or participated in the formulation and revision of 32 national and industry standards and holds over 300 patents. It was among the first in the domestic industry to launch high-end, high-performance products such as tires for new energy electric vehicles, high-end environmentally friendly and wear-resistant truck and bus tires, run-flat tires, racing tires, and ultra-low rolling resistance tires. For five consecutive years, it has been awarded the title of “National Leading Brand in Rubber Tire Manufacturing Industry,” demonstrating the high-end technological strength of Chinese tire brands to the global market. Zhang Jing, Deputy General Manager of Huasheng Rubber Group, stated: “From delivering high-quality products to all parts of the world to exporting mature technologies, this is an inevitable development and a mission for Chinese enterprises to make the world proud of Chinese tires. In the future, we will take this technology export as a starting point to establish a regular collaborative R&D mechanism, working together to overcome common industry challenges and bring more wear-resistant, energy-efficient, and safer tires from blueprints to the global market.”
