Recently, the 2026 Cross-Border E-commerce Industry Data Report Event was held in Shenzhen. This event focused on releasing the latest data across the entire cross-border e-commerce industry chain. Numerous professionals from cross-border e-commerce platforms, leading sellers, procurement supply chains, logistics and warehousing, and financial payment sectors gathered to share their insights, deeply analyze industry development trends, and jointly explore new paths for the development of the cross-border ecosystem.

The “2025 China Cross-Border E-commerce Industry Blue Book” was officially released at the event. The report points out that digitalization, refinement, and intelligence have become the core characteristics of the industry’s operation.
According to data from market research firm Precedence Research, the global cross-border e-commerce market reached $551.23 billion in 2025 and is projected to continue expanding at a CAGR of 15.44% between 2025 and 2034. This rapid growth is primarily attributed to the accelerated digitalization process and the widespread adoption of the internet and smartphones. Further data shows that in 2025, my country’s cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reached 2.75 trillion yuan, a 69.7% increase compared to 2020, setting a new historical record. Over the past five years, China’s cross-border e-commerce trade volume has increased more than tenfold, the number of Chinese cross-border e-commerce companies has exceeded 120,000, and these companies have registered over 30,000 trademarks overseas. This series of data fully demonstrates the booming development of China’s cross-border e-commerce industry. As a “super hub” for cross-border e-commerce in China, Shenzhen’s performance in 2025 was particularly outstanding. In 2025, Shenzhen’s online cross-border e-commerce transaction volume exceeded 1 trillion yuan, bringing together about half of the country’s sellers and supporting service providers. Shenzhen’s success not only demonstrates its strong strength in the cross-border e-commerce field but also provides valuable experience and lessons for the development of cross-border e-commerce in other regions. Wang Xin, President of the Shenzhen Cross-border E-commerce Association, stated that 2026 is a strategic watershed year for the cross-border e-commerce industry, marking a shift from “goods flowing globally” to a “smart global connection” era. In this new era, the industry needs to shift from scale expansion to brand cultivation, cultural export, and refined operations. It must drive end-to-end transformation with AI and data, actively expand into emerging markets and offline scenarios, and export Chinese standards and cultural values. This means that cross-border e-commerce companies need to continuously innovate and improve their competitiveness to adapt to market changes and development needs. Looking to the future, China’s cross-border e-commerce industry is expected to achieve even greater success in the global market. With continuous technological advancements and market expansion, cross-border e-commerce will provide a broader platform for Chinese goods to reach the world and bring more high-quality Chinese products to global consumers.
