Smart home industry: lifelong service is the core competitiveness

智能家居行业现状是多数从业者难提供长期服务,问题频发。但终身服务能带来客户信任和商业价值,有平台正构建交付基础设施,提供兜底安全感,让交付成为核心竞争力。

Have you ever thought about a question: Why does the air-conditioning industry have a five-year or ten-year warranty, while in the smart home industry, most people disappear after finishing it?

In the past eleven years, I have seen too many cases like this.
An agent took over the project, but the plan was not right, the product selection was unreasonable, the cost estimate was low, the installation and debugging could not be completed, and after-sales problems occurred frequently.
In the end, you either lose money and hold on, or you just hide.
What happens after you hide?
When the owner’s equipment breaks down and he can’t find anyone to repair it, he has to find another person and pay a high price to reinstall it.

Why is this?
Because most practitioners simply do not have the ability to provide long-term services.
Their cost estimate only takes into account the product price difference, not the true costs of installation, debugging, and after-sales service.
The small amount of money collected simply cannot support the long-term service commitment.
Once something goes wrong with the project, you either lose money or hide.
This is not because we don’t want to provide lifelong services, but because the business model simply cannot support it.

What’s even more frightening is that even agents who do well may disappear at any time.
There are three or five people in a company, and they do everything themselves from sales to installation to after-sales service.
If you are alive this year, you may not be here next year.
It’s not that we don’t want to do it for a long time, it’s that this “all-round” model itself is very fragile – if any link goes wrong, the entire chain will be broken.
They disappear and the customer is left hanging.
The smart system that the owner spent tens of thousands of yuan to install became an island without anyone to care about it in two years.

This is not only a problem for small agents, but also for big brands.
There used to be a smart home brand in Ningbo called ThinkHome. It was very large and many buildings had their system pre-installed.
Later, it went bankrupt, and the server went down directly. All owners who used their system had their home intelligence paralyzed.
There are many people who have torn it down and redone it.
This is not an exception, this is the norm in this industry.

I have a friend who does group buying. He used to do project management for a real estate brand that pre-installed smart homes.
He is responsible for the delivery of a community – thermostats, switches, curtain motors, all installed by him and his team.
What happens after you submit it?
Customers have a lot of trust in him because he is there from start to finish and is always available to respond to any questions.
Later, the owner of this community came to him for all upgrades and renovations – the thermostat was broken and replaced with a new one, he wanted to install a curtain motor, and he wanted to upgrade the switch to a smart one.
In just a few months, he sold nearly two hundred thermostats in one community.
He does not need to acquire customers or advertise, customers come to him on their own initiative.

This is the core value of lifelong service – one-time delivery, in exchange for not a single business, but the complete trust of a customer.

Think about a question from the perspective of an owner: After spending tens of thousands of yuan to install a smart home, if you want to install a monitoring system two years later, or if a switch is broken and you want to replace it, what is the first thing you need?
It’s the original file.
What brand of product did you use?
What model?
What specifications?
How did the line go?
Where is the gateway located?
If you don’t know this information, the agent you originally found may no longer be there.
You can only find someone to look at it again, explore it again, and spend time and money again.
This process of “finding people – exploring – repairing” is like rebuilding on the ruins, and every repair is an adventure.

That’s exactly what we’re doing.
Our delivery platform has a complete data transfer area for each project.
All drawings, plans, acceptance forms, and product lists are permanently archived.
Customers can browse and download at any time.
You never need to worry about “what was installed and how”, because this information has been permanently saved.
If you want to install additional equipment two years later, you don’t need to re-explore it. You only need to call up the original file and the master will follow suit.

This is not only a peace of mind for owners, but also a long-term weapon for B-side agents.
It is impossible for him to remember all the details of the project, but he can call them up at any time through the platform.
Any question a customer asks him, he can answer immediately.
This level of professionalism is unmatched by any practitioner working alone.

Will the smart home industry have a unified after-sales entrance like the air-conditioning industry in the future?
Definitely.
In today’s industry, after-sales service is completely dependent on the person who installs it for you.
If he cares about you, you will have peace of mind; if he does not care about you, you will be unlucky.
If he is alive, you will have after-sales service; if he goes bankrupt, you will become an island.
This is obviously not what a mature industry should look like.
In the future, the brand must open an official after-sales channel, the owner calls, and the brand dispatches a local certified service provider to come to handle the problem.

This is what we are doing.
It is not an agent of a certain brand, but a delivery infrastructure between all brands and owners.
The brand owner can entrust us with after-sales service, and we will dispatch local masters to visit according to unified standards.
The owner doesn’t need to remember who installed it in the first place, he just needs to know – he can find it at any time.

This sense of security that “someone will always have the bottom line” is the core value of lifelong service.
People who sell products disappear after finishing their work.
Those who deliver will become more stable as they do more.
Those who can only provide one-time sales will be eliminated sooner or later.
And those who can provide lifelong services will become inseparable partners for both owners and brands.

What we are building is exactly such a platform.
It not only delivers a project, but also delivers long-term trust.
This trust continues to grow from the moment you hand over your project to us.
It doesn’t end with acceptance, it won’t fade with time, and it won’t disappear because someone leaves.
Because it does not depend on one person, but is based on a set of rules, a platform, and a promise to tell the truth.

Delivery is not the end, but the beginning of trust.
Let delivery become your core competitiveness.
