Suzhou equipment manufacturing industry in 2025: chain collaboration and high-end upgrade road

In 2025, Suzhou’s equipment manufacturing industry demonstrated strong growth momentum, achieving high-end upgrades through supply chain synergy and intelligent, digital transformation. This article reviews the key events and achievements in Suzhou’s equipment manufacturing sector during the year.

Equipment manufacturing is one of the main engines of Suzhou industry.
In 2025, Suzhou’s GDP will reach 2,769.51 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%; the total industrial output value above designated size will be 4,896.64 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. The industrial base continues to approach the “5 trillion level”.
The output value of the equipment manufacturing industry increased by 4.2% year-on-year. Together with the electronic information industry, the contribution rate to the growth of the total industrial output value reached 75.8%. The two pillars jointly support the fundamentals of Suzhou’s industry.

Suzhou equipment manufacturing scene

Suzhou’s equipment manufacturing no longer relies on “single-point large projects” to support the scene, but revolves around “industrial machine + robot + automobile and parts +
“Intelligent production line” and other sectors have formed a chain collaboration from R&D to manufacturing, from parts to complete machines, and from factory to scene, and local supporting capabilities have been enhanced.
From January to November 2025, the equipment manufacturing industry achieved an output value of 1.46635 billion yuan, and together with electronic information and new materials, it constitutes Suzhou’s “three trillion-level industries”, and the multi-polar supported industrial pattern is more stable.

Facing the next step of “intelligently building a famous city”, what Suzhou needs to compete is not the temporary increase or decrease in scale, but organizational efficiency and industrial resilience.
On the one hand, we use “intelligent transformation and digital transformation” to connect production lines, equipment, processes and supply chains into an optimizable system to improve efficiency and reliability; on the other hand, we use “strengthening and complementing chains” to improve the self-sufficiency and synergy of key links, enhance the ability to withstand fluctuations, and further transform “making it bigger” into “making it stronger and longer”.

In this year, there have been many exciting events in Suzhou’s equipment manufacturing field.
On January 2, Taicang High-tech Zone held a commencement ceremony for key projects in January, and 8 key projects with a total investment of more than 6 billion yuan started.
The projects started this time cover new energy vehicles, equipment testing, new materials, precision machinery and other fields. They are all new projects attracted by Taicang High-tech Zone after effectively revitalizing inefficient stock resources and carrying out secondary development of stock industrial land.
After the project reaches full production, it can achieve an output value of over 12 billion yuan and a tax revenue of over 400 million yuan.

On February 28, the 2025 Binhai Suzhou Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing and Science and Technology Innovation Resources Matchmaking Conference was successfully held in Suzhou.
A total of 13 projects were signed on site, with a total agreed investment of 1.78 billion yuan.
At the meeting, representatives and guests from companies such as Binhai Qingyinghui, Yueshanhai Special Robot, Kunshan Upton, and Sidi Semiconductor conducted in-depth exchanges and speeches to further strengthen the industrial coupling between Suzhou and Binhai and promote resource sharing, complementary advantages, and coordinated development between the two places.

Suzhou Equipment Manufacturing Exhibition Scene

On March 22, the 7th Suzhou International Machine Tool Exhibition, which lasted for three and a half days, came to an end.
The exhibition invited a total of 700+ exhibitors at home and abroad, including both international industrial giants and local Chinese leading companies, forming a machine tool industry feast that deeply integrates “globalization” and “localization”.
A group of professional buyers came together, and 566 major buyers in the industry gathered together to accurately connect supply and demand.

On April 26, the 2025 Suzhou Global Investment Conference with the theme of “Invest in Suzhou and Win the Future” was held.
417 projects with a total investment of 341.57 billion yuan were signed together.
Changshu signed 38 projects that day, with a total investment of nearly 40 billion yuan, including new energy vehicles and parts, high-end equipment, new generation information technology, new materials and other manufacturing projects, as well as artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy, marine economy, and emerging service industry projects.

On May 27, the 2025 Turbine Technology Conference and Civil Aviation Engine and Gas Turbine Exhibition opened at the Suzhou International Expo Center.
In the 18,000-square-meter exhibition area, more than 400 companies showcased cutting-edge technologies in the field of aviation power.
Suzhou local enterprises have demonstrated their strong strength in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing with a series of independently innovative hard-core technologies.

On June 18, the “2025 China Forging Conference – National Forging Enterprise Directors Conference” hosted by the China Forging Association concluded successfully in Suzhou.
The conference attracted 156 companies, 350 decision-makers and technical experts from across the country to jointly explore high-end, intelligent and green development paths for the forging industry.
The conference released the “China Forging Industry Technology and Economic Data Research Report 2024” white paper and the “China Forging Industry Related National Policy Interpretation 2025” blue paper.

On the afternoon of July 15, the first event of the Suzhou Regional Competition of the 10th “Maker China” Jiangsu Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition – the “High-end Equipment Manufacturing” preliminary competition, was successfully held in the roadshow hall on the second floor of the Suzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Integrated Development Center.
This preliminary competition brought together 18 elite teams and innovative projects in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing, covering multiple fields such as intelligent equipment, robots, aerospace equipment, and the semiconductor industry.

In early August, the “Key Technology Research and Development of Digital Twin-driven Shield Machine Intelligent Operating System” project applied by CCCC Tianhe Machinery Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was successfully announced by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and became the only provincial cutting-edge technology research and development project selected in Changshu City for 2025.
In response to the pain points of traditional shield machines, CCCC has established a team to focus on the development of an integrated system for intelligent operation, operation management, and early warning of shield machines to promote the upgrading of the high-end equipment industry and comprehensively improve construction safety and efficiency.
