The recently released Yongkang Hardware Index operation report for May 2026 shows that the overall operation of the hardware industry that month showed the characteristics of “short-term adjustment of the prosperity, structural price differentiation, and continued accumulation of development momentum.” The trends of the three major categories of core indexes clearly reflect the current operating status of the hardware industry under the background of domestic and international dual cycles, and have important reference value for global hardware procurement and trade links.
First of all, the three major prosperity indexes have been adjusted. The market transaction prosperity index, production prosperity index and foreign trade prosperity index all experienced month-on-month decreases.
As of May 2026, the trading prosperity index of Yongkang Hardware Market closed at 92.35 points, down 0.51 points month-on-month. The four major sub-categories showed a pattern of “one increase and three decreases”. The factor supply prosperity index increased month-on-month, and the market demand, operating efficiency, and overall judgment prosperity index increased month-on-month.
The production prosperity index closed at 98.28 points, a month-on-month decrease of 0.61 points, and the sub-items also showed a pattern of “one increase and three decreases”; the foreign trade prosperity index closed at 96.47 points, a month-on-month decrease of 1.72 points, and the sub-item trends were consistent with the first two types of prosperity indexes.
Industry analysts pointed out that this slight adjustment in the prosperity index falls within the scope of seasonal fluctuations and has not changed the long-term positive trend of the industry.

Secondly, the three major price indexes showed a differentiated trend of two increases and one decrease. The market transaction price index and production price index increased month-on-month, and the foreign trade price index decreased month-on-month.
Among them, the market transaction price index closed at 99.04 points, an increase of 0.44 percentage points from the previous month. The eight major hardware industries showed a pattern of “five increases and three decreases”, with the cup industry ranking first, with an increase of 3.62 percentage points from the previous month. The producer price index closed at 104.23 points, an increase of 0.38 percentage points from the previous month. The eight major industries
In a pattern of “four rises and four falls”, metal materials had the highest growth rate, up 5.14 percentage points month-on-month; the foreign trade price index closed at 99.09 points, down 1.33 percentage points month-on-month. The eight major industries showed a “three rises and five falls” pattern, with metal materials still being the category with the highest growth, rising 3.13 percentage points month-on-month.
The price fluctuations of different categories also directly reflect the current demand differences in the global hardware market, providing data support for buyers to select products and negotiate prices.

It is worth noting that in May 2026, the Yongkang Hardware Industry Development Sub-index rose steadily across the board, highlighting the industry’s sufficient long-term growth potential.
Among them, the e-commerce index was 124.56 points, an increase of 1.94 points from the previous month. The cross-border e-commerce index closed at 142.54 points, far exceeding the domestic e-commerce index, reflecting the strong growth momentum of cross-border online channels for hardware products; the innovation index was 130.71 points, an increase of 0.94 points from the previous month, of which innovation output
The index rose by 1.99 percentage points, significantly higher than the increase in innovation investment, indicating that the efficiency of industrial R&D conversion continues to improve; the industrial chain index closed at 104.09 points, a month-on-month increase of 1.83 points, and the industrial chain stability index reached 108.30 points, highlighting the increasing risk resistance of the Yongkang hardware industry chain.
Overall, despite the short-term correction in the prosperity index in May, the Yongkang hardware industry has performed well in areas such as digital channel expansion, R&D innovation, and industrial chain resilience construction, laying a solid foundation for the long-term and stable development of the industry and providing sufficient cooperation space and market opportunities for upstream and downstream practitioners in the global hardware industry chain.
