Recently, Yunfeng Financial completed its strategic investment in cross-border payment service provider WooshPay.
On April 30, Yunfeng Financial Group announced the news, and WooshPay simultaneously disclosed that the two parties will cooperate with Yunfeng Financial’s digital asset business around cross-border payment capabilities. Related content involves AlphaToken, asset tokenization, real-world assets and on-chain financial systems.

The WooshPay platform covers global collection, payment and settlement services, including more than 170 countries and regions, and supports 155 currencies.
Its product capabilities include bank card and e-wallet payments, invoicing, global accounts, card issuance, payment gateway and other modules.
Public information also shows that WooshPay has obtained relevant regulatory qualifications from the British FCA, is a registered service provider for Visa and Mastercard, and has PCI-DSS Level 1 certification.
Yunfeng Financial has a long-term capital background of “Yunfeng Group”.
Its 2024 annual report disclosed that as of December 31, 2024, the company’s direct parent company and ultimate holding company is Yunfeng Financial Holdings Limited, which is beneficially owned by Jack Ma and Yu Feng with 29.85% and 70.15% equity respectively.
Yunfeng Financial’s investment this time is a payment infrastructure service provider that provides cross-border collection, global payments, multi-currency settlement and fund management capabilities.
Yunfeng Financial’s main business is not payment. Its business covers insurance, securities brokerage, asset management and financial technology.
In recent years, AI, Web3, digital assets and RWA-related content have appeared more in Yunfeng Financial’s business statements.
After this investment in WooshPay, Yunfeng Financial’s financial products and digital asset business have gained support for cross-border payment capabilities.
Digital asset business usually involves RWA, asset tokenization, on-chain financial systems, and digital asset issuance and circulation.
After the relevant business enters the customer transaction and fund settlement links, accounts, payments, settlements, refunds and compliance reviews will all become necessary links.
Customer payment currency, fund entry, cross-market settlement, redemption collection, refund disputes, risk control and anti-money laundering responsibilities all require systems and rules.
Payment and settlement capabilities are directly involved in these links.
Yunfeng Financial invested in WooshPay, supplementing its transaction-side capabilities in its digital assets and financial technology layout.
Assets can be tokenized, customers can be globalized, and services can be made online, but fund entry and exit still require cross-border collection, global payments, multi-currency accounts, local payment methods, merchant review, transaction monitoring and settlement management.

In traditional overseas business, capabilities such as WooshPay mainly serve cross-border e-commerce, SaaS, games, education, medical care, creator economy and other scenarios.
Merchants need to access local payment methods in different countries and regions, collect payments in multiple currencies, and integrate supplier payments, refunds, employee salaries or platform accounts into the same fund management system.
After entering Yunfeng Financial’s digital asset business, WooshPay’s capabilities will be more used for fund inflow and settlement management.
This investment is still disclosed by Yunfeng Financial, and the transaction amount has not been publicly disclosed. Yunfeng Financial’s shareholding ratio, governance arrangements, and follow-up coordination rhythm of WooshPay have not been disclosed in more detail.
After Yunfeng Financial invests in WooshPay, subsequent cooperation between the two parties will focus on payment capabilities and business collaboration.
WooshPay’s cross-border payment capabilities will enter Yunfeng Financial’s digital financial business layout.
In the past few years, hot words in the digital finance industry have been constantly changing, such as stablecoins, RWA, on-chain finance, AI Agent, Web3 wallet, asset tokenization, etc.
After financial business enters the transaction stage, issues such as account management, fund settlement, and division of responsibilities will affect business operations.
Yunfeng Financial’s investment in WooshPay has supplemented its fund processing, account services and cross-border settlement capabilities, extending the digital financial layout from the asset side to the capital side.
Hong Kong has continued to promote the development of virtual assets, RWA, stablecoins and financial technology in recent years. Yunfeng Financial invested in WooshPay to supplement cross-border payment and settlement capabilities.
The role of cross-border payment companies is changing. As RWA, stablecoins, Web3 finance and AI transaction scenarios heat up, cross-border payments are beginning to enter more complex financial service scenarios.
Currently, Yunfeng Financial’s investment in WooshPay is still in the stage of strategic investment and business collaboration disclosure, and details such as investment amount, shareholding ratio and governance arrangements are subject to subsequent public information disclosure.
Digital asset-related businesses put forward higher requirements for account, fund and customer identity review. Yunfeng Financial’s AI + Web3 business promotion depends on the degree of matching between the account system, compliance review, capital flow, transaction scenarios and customer needs.
Yunfeng Financial’s investment in WooshPay makes cross-border payment an important capability in its digital asset financial layout.
Payment institutions gain new business space in new scenarios and must also bear more complex compliance, risk control and transaction management requirements.
Digital assets can enter the on-chain system, and cross-border payments are responsible for the entry and exit of funds and settlement.
