Export credit insurance helps Hunan’s foreign trade maintain stability and improve quality.

In 2025, the Hunan Branch of SINOSURE actively leveraged the cross-cycle and counter-cyclical regulatory functions of export credit insurance to provide robust support for the development of Hunan's foreign trade, achieving remarkable results in promoting high-quality foreign trade growth, facilitating the "Belt and Road Initiative," and advancing the development of the "Three Highlands."

In 2025, export credit insurance played a significant cross-cyclical and counter-cyclical role in promoting the “stability and quality improvement” of Hunan’s foreign trade. According to the Hunan branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (SINOSURE), the company actively fulfilled its policy-oriented functions, providing export proceeds risk protection of US$9.792 billion to 2,359 enterprises throughout the year. The insured amount of export trade insurance increased by 10.73% year-on-year against the trend, and the export penetration rate rose to 22.68%; services for new export formats reached US$434 million, a year-on-year increase of 38.9%. These figures demonstrate that export credit insurance has provided solid protection for Hunan’s foreign trade enterprises in the complex international market environment, helping them expand their business and enhance their competitiveness. In supporting the Belt and Road Initiative to a deeper and more practical level, China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (SINOSURE) Hunan Branch actively serves its advantageous industries, such as engineering machinery, rail transportation, and power equipment, as well as large-scale capital and goods exports, and promotes international production capacity and equipment manufacturing cooperation. Last year, the company supported exports to Belt and Road countries totaling US$5.594 billion, a year-on-year increase of 53.79%. Among these, exports to Africa reached US$754 million, a year-on-year increase of 93.42%, helping Hunan maintain its leading position in trade with Africa for five consecutive years in western and central China. Simultaneously, it actively integrated into the RCEP cooperation framework, providing export insurance for RCEP member countries totaling US$1.871 billion, a year-on-year increase of 42.24%. This not only strengthened trade ties between Hunan and Belt and Road countries and RCEP member countries but also provided broader opportunities for Hunan enterprises to explore international markets. Focusing on the construction of “three highlands,” China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (SINOSURE) Hunan Branch has continuously improved its industrial support efficiency. Through coordinated efforts between its headquarters and branches and tailored policies for each enterprise, it has leveraged seven key provincial industrial chains to ensure the stability of the industrial and supply chains, achieving an insured amount of US$4.349 billion. Adhering to inclusive finance policies, it served US$2.393 billion in exports for micro and small enterprises throughout the year, a year-on-year increase of 22.17%. Furthermore, it upheld the principles of “full compensation and prompt payment,” paying out RMB 676 million in claims throughout the year, with trade insurance claims processing time shortened by approximately 26 days. These measures have provided strong support for Hunan’s industrial development and the growth of micro and small enterprises. A representative from China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation’s Hunan branch stated that, in the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, they will diligently fulfill their policy-oriented functions and make new and greater contributions to Hunan’s comprehensive realization of its “Three Highs and Four New” blueprint and the promotion of high-level opening-up and high-quality development. They believe that with the continued support of export credit insurance, Hunan’s foreign trade will usher in a brighter future.
