Data show that since the island has been closed for 100 days, Hainan’s foreign trade import and export has exceeded 80 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.9%.
Among them, 186 transactions were carried out under the “zero tariff” policy, with a total value of 1.696 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.46 times, tax reductions and exemptions of 271 million yuan, an increase of 93.6%, and the average customs clearance time was reduced by 26%.
This series of data shows that the “zero tariff” policy has greatly reduced the costs of enterprises, improved trade efficiency, and attracted more enterprises to participate in Hainan’s trade activities.

Since the closure of the customs, people and transportation have also shown a good growth trend.
There were 861,000 inbound and outbound passengers, an increase of 36.3%, of which 217,000 were visa-free, an increase of 54.2%; there were 6,077 inbound and outbound flights, an increase of 30%, and 1,393 ships, an increase of 15.2%.
The growth of people and transportation not only promotes the development of tourism and other related industries, but also provides more convenient conditions for trade exchanges.

The tariff-free policy for processing value-added domestic sales has also achieved remarkable results.
547 business transactions were carried out, an increase of 26.6%, with a total value of 314 million yuan, and tariff exemptions of 15.5802 million yuan.
At the same time, new business scenarios such as the value of Hainan’s self-produced goods being included in the value-added part and processing value-added accumulation have all been implemented, providing enterprises with more development opportunities and space.

Cai Qiang, member of the Hainan Provincial People’s Government’s Party Leadership Group, Secretary-General, and Provincial Government Spokesperson, said that the implementation of the core policy of closing customs has achieved results.
There were 7,503 new registered foreign trade enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 65.7%, and a total of 11,773 business entities have been approved for “zero tariff” preferential entity qualifications.
This shows that the attractiveness of Hainan Free Trade Port is constantly increasing, and more and more companies are optimistic about Hainan’s development prospects.

The multifunctional free trade account (EF account) operates smoothly, with business volume reaching 137.6 billion yuan. Since the introduction of the policy, 990 EF accounts have been opened, with business volume equivalent to more than 450 billion yuan.
The good operation of EF accounts provides enterprises with more convenient financial services and promotes the flow of funds and the development of trade.

The amount of duty-free sales in offshore islands was 15.62 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.64%.
The continuous optimization of the offshore tax-free policy has attracted a large number of tourists to come for shopping, which not only boosts consumption, but also enhances Hainan’s tourism attractiveness.

The good development trend of Hainan Free Trade Port since its closure for 100 days has laid a solid foundation for further development in the future.
With the continuous improvement and implementation of various policies, Hainan Free Trade Port is expected to play a more important role in international trade and become an important window for China’s opening up to the outside world.
