In the first five months of this year, the Yangtze River Delta region’s import and export scale hit a record high for the same period in history, maintaining growth for 15 consecutive months. This achievement fully demonstrates the strong resilience and vitality of our country’s economy.
According to customs statistics, in the first five months of this year, the total import and export value of the Yangtze River Delta region reached 7.82 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.2%. The scale hit a record high for the same period in history, accounting for 37.8% of the country’s total import and export value.
This data shows that the Yangtze River Delta region occupies a pivotal position in my country’s foreign trade.
Among them, exports were 4.92 trillion yuan, accounting for 41.3% of the country’s total exports.
In terms of export products, exports of high-end manufacturing products such as ships, integrated circuits, and robots have all achieved double-digit growth.
This reflects the Yangtze River Delta region’s increasing competitiveness in high-end manufacturing and its ability to occupy a place in the international market.
The growth in exports of high-end manufacturing products not only brings considerable economic benefits to the Yangtze River Delta region, but also helps promote the upgrading and optimization of my country’s industrial structure.
In the first five months, imports were 2.9 trillion yuan.
The demand for raw materials and high-end components required for industrial production continues to increase, which provides strong support for the stable operation of regional advanced manufacturing industries.
The sufficient supply of raw materials and high-end components enables manufacturing companies in the Yangtze River Delta region to maintain efficient production, further improving product quality and competitiveness.
The vitality of foreign trade entities continues to be released.
The import and export of private enterprises in the first five months was 4.22 trillion yuan, accounting for 54% of the total foreign trade value of the Yangtze River Delta.
Private enterprises play an important role in the development of foreign trade in the Yangtze River Delta region, and their active performance reflects the vitality and potential of the market.
Private enterprises have flexible operating mechanisms and innovative capabilities, and can better adapt to changes in the international market, injecting new impetus into the growth of foreign trade in the Yangtze River Delta region.
In addition, in the first five months, the Yangtze River Delta region’s imports and exports to countries co-building the “Belt and Road” increased by 17.5% year-on-year; its imports and exports to emerging markets such as ASEAN, Latin America, and Africa increased by 25.5%, 9.3%, and 14% respectively.
This shows that the Yangtze River Delta region is actively expanding overseas markets, strengthening trade with emerging markets, and the resilience of foreign trade development continues to increase.
Cooperation with “Belt and Road” countries and emerging markets not only brings more business opportunities to enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region, but also helps promote the diversified development of the regional economy.
The continued growth of imports and exports in the Yangtze River Delta region is a microcosm of my country’s stable economic development.
